2011-2012 SDASSP President’s Welcome

Welcome to the SDASSP website.  Our organization’s goal is to promote the interests of middle school and high school principals in the state of South Dakota in several ways.  First, by building relationships with state and national educational organizations including the National Association of Secondary School Principals and School Administrators of South Dakota, we provide information that is relevant nationally and locally. 

Secondly, by building relationships between individual principals and the organization, we hope to provide information and resources that will support principals in their individual schools.  Last, we provide opportunities for colleagues to develop a professional network to facilitate sharing ideas and concerns. 
 
 We serve as a group of professionals who not only care about education in South Dakota, but challenge ourselves to improve our system every day.  Relationships lie at the center of our work.  Individually, we build relationships with students, teachers and families in order to promote success.  Collectively, we build relationships with one another and organizations that can help keep us on the cutting edge of knowledge and best practice.  As principals, we face a different set of challenges every day, and together, we will rise to meet it.
